We live in constant motion every day. From the time we rise, we are already working. We shower, brush teeth, dress, eat, and travel to work. All of these actions are part of a routine. While they may make us feel better, they are the “to do’s” rather than the “to be’ s.” We are all looking for peace of mind in our lives, but how can we find it? For many, the desire to have more peace of mind or spirituality stirs up anxiety and confusion and sometimes even depression.
And what about your dream or vision for yourself? Have you given up on yours, lost yours or never found yours? Alongside our desire for inner peace comes this notion of wanting to be clear about what we want in life – aka, have a vision and live this amazing life.
So what’s the problem? Why can’t we have peace of mind, be spiritual and live these amazing lives? Well, for starters we have not been trained to do so. Little in our conventional education has been supporting these notions. Outward rewards have been steering us away from listening inwardly. Avoidance of feeling depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, or a general sense of feeling lost, have gotten us into addictive behaviors such as over-eating, over-sleeping, over-working, drinking too much, watching too much TV and spending entirely too much time on our mobile devices.
Now, none of this is meant to be a judgment, but if you are feeling depressed, have no vision, don’t enjoy your work, are suffering in a relationship or are seeking to feel connected spiritually, read on.
I myself have felt many of those things mentioned above. I was depressed for years, had no vision or idea of what I wanted to be or do and was riddled with anxiety. Now, many years later, I am happy to report that I have an amazing life. It is not always perfect, but it is amazing.
